As many of you know, I have never been one to rush things. My previous post explains how the whole whirlwind of mine and Ashley’s marriage went down. It was not something we decided to do on a whim. I have always been a very analytical person. I over think thinks far more than I should. My dating life was a prime example of that habit of mine. For me, I have to be sure about something before I decide to do it. Jumping feet first into any situation is not my idea of fun.
That being said, it’s time to announce (again, only this time not on Facebook) that Ashley is pregnant! Yes, it is a honeymoon baby. Baby Lelle is due on May the 2nd. I’m pushing for May the 4th (I mean, really, what Star Wars fan wouldn’t want a child born on May the 4th?), Ash is hoping for any other day. She promised that if it’s a boy and he is born on the 4th (if and only if, in her words) we can name him Mason Luke. I tried for Skywalker first, but she was adamant that she would kill me first. *sigh*
We didn’t rush into this decision. The baby was not an accident. We discussed many times before we were married whether we were going to wait for kids or not. Both Ashley and I felt like we should not wait. I’m a bit freaked out by the prospect of being a father. This time last year I wasn’t even IN a committed relationship. But here we are. Six months away from a kid of our own. I’m super excited, though. Ashley will be a great mother. Hopefully I’ll be a good father. I’ll do my best. I guess that’s all you can really hope for.
